easy like sunday morning.

well, well, well, happy august 30. do you see that? rain. poor mister raincloud couldn't even hold off for two days.
rain in september isn't so bad, but august? and it's not just sprinkling. it's coming down. so, in attempt to brighten the mood a little, i'm listening to good rainy-day songs like "easy" and "three times a lady" by the commodores. or "mercy mercy me" by marvin gaye. wonderful music for this sort of occasion.

as i mentioned last night, i'd love to tell about my weekend in more detail. landon and i headed up to portland saturday morning and had a fun-filled two days! here's my favorite story from the trip: my brother came over saturday night with a chicken to roast, and with plans to make grilled peaches and ice cream for dessert. YUM. the meal was, in fact, a winner winner chicken dinner. so then come the peaches...they look great, right? nicely charred, soft and warm, ready for us to dig in...
one small problem. we started in on the peaches and all had the same reaction:

"THEY TASTE LIKE HAMBURGERS! Ryan, did you clean the grill?"

Whoops.

Well, out went the peaches, but we sure got a good laugh. And we've now officially ruined grilled peaches for both Landon and my dad who have sworn to never eat them again.

sunday was just as fun. landon and i met his family downtown for dinner at elephants deli. it's part restaurant, part market, part gift shop and i loved it!

here's what i had for dinner...just as yummy as it sounds...

we then made our way to PGE park to watch the timbers beat crystal palace baltimore 3-0. a nice way to end the weekend.

this captures portland for me. sitting in PGE park, seeing the max pass in front of the oregonian building. no matter where we move or how many places we call home, i will always feel at home in this city. thanks stumptown. you're easy like sunday morning.

hahahaha aw those poor peaches! hopefully they aren't ruined forever and you'll be able to make them again without the hamburger taste!
