two years ago, my mom started a small business teaching cooking classes for kids in portland, oregon. i think it's the most wonderful business in the world [of course i do]. my mom teaches home-ec to middle schoolers by day, and, let me put it this way, homegirl knows her way around the kitchen. starting tomorrow, she's teaching her first series of cooking classes for adults. it's called the first tuesday cooking club, and those signed up will meet once a month for the next six months to cook a meal, learn new kitchen tips and enjoy each other's company. i think it's the sweetest idea, and i wish i was in portland to be in the club.

That sounds so cool! I love cooking with my mom, we dance around the kitchen and laugh together :) This Friday we're volunteering at a Ronald Mc Donald house to make dinner for the kids there.
I think monthly groups are an awesome way to meet other people who love doing what you do. Tomorrow night I'm joining a new monthly knit-group that's starting - I'm so excited!
I have friends whom are starting a monthly cooking club. I am a little worried since I can't cook but love to eat. :)
