sunday lovin: continued.

continuing on last night's post, let me tell you about my weekend. it was a reminder of how blessed i am to have such wonderful friends and family around. this is a long post, but i'd love to walk you through it and share some with you some of the most important people in my life.
here's some background: landon and i went to a teensy little school in san diego, and every year our cross country team went to oregon [where we're both from] for a meet. this year, we're both graduated and living in oregon, so i was pretty excited to see the team on their trip up, which was this weekend.
the fun began on friday night, when we met the team for dinner. i think at one point i had three girls with their fingers in my hair and another two asking me questions [that's just how we do things]. i love these girls.
saturday was race day, and if there's one thing i get excited about, it's watching cross country.

they killed it. third overall behind two other nationally ranked teams. and, they looked pretty doing it, i might add.

and of course our resident steve prefontaine look alike found some fans...

like i said before, i love these girls. this team changed my life. really.
i told landon last night that even though we've got ourselves a nice chunk of student loan debt to pay off [and when i say nice chunk, i actually mean big chunk], i wouldn't trade my time at point loma for anything. i'll be paying my money to the man for a good while, but it was all worth it.

i rushed back up to portland from the meet in salem to be at my beautiful friend amy's wedding. she seriously lucked out on the weather. it was gorgeous.
and let's go ahead and zoom in on the pretty flowers...

saturday night the team came to my parent's house for dinner.
we had chicken pot pie. real good.

ang served the apple crisp and tried not to eat it all herself...
 it was a good night.

sunday afternoon brought lunch at  screen door with my family.
check out this fried chicken and sweet potato waffle...
and my brioche vanilla bean french toast was divine. mmm.
we ended the day by visiting door of hope with some friends. what a beautiful, honest service. if you're in portland, i recommend checking it out.

it was a good weekend.
xoxo.

ps. some of these photos are angie's, some are mine. just to give due credit.

Love this! If I could transport all my Loma friends to North Carolina, I think I would be in heaven. What a treat!
