for the first time since september, landon and i are spending an entire weekend at home. we’ve made trips to portland for the past 10 weekends, and i was ready for some good ol’ apartment time. and what do i have to show for it?
for starters, i washed the bathtub and roasted a chicken.
[big props to my mom...who is now referring to herself as "the chicken hotline." you can read between the lines on that one.]
other highlights include:
landon accidentally referring to me as “katie browning” [my maiden name].
finishing our christmas decorations, even if no one else gets to see them [we don’t get many visitors in this itty-bitty place].
landon and i simultaneously yelling “YES!” accompanied by simultaneous fist-pumps when we started the car and heard “You’re listening to NPR, this is All Things Considered.” embarrassing, i know.
and this conversation:
katie [after landon came to the chicken-carving rescue]: thanks for being the best husband ever.
landon: i'm actually the second best.
katie: well who’s the best, then?
landon: i don’t know, but i’m sure he’s out there.
it’s good to be home.

What a fun weekend. Glad you're home spending time with your husband (: You guys sound too cute!
You guys are too adorable. Talk about made for each other (me and my boyfriend have simultaneous moments like that as well!).
And good job on your chicken, looks great! Roasting is THE way to cook things in my opinion - I love it :D
