lebanon, meet sunshine; feet, meet running shoes.

It was a lovely seventy degrees in Lebanon today. To be honest, I was starting to forget about the sunshine but today was a lovely reminder that Spring has arrived. In honor of all this, I laced up my running shoes for a little joggy-jog.

Background: it's been a year since I've run consistently, partially because of some injury problems, and partially because who wants to workout in the dead of winter when the drive both to and from work is in the dark? Not me. I attempted a run about three weeks ago that, to say the least, did not end well. Landon found me huffing and puffing on the side of the trail claiming that I was going to pass out and throw up at the same time. Basically, my body did not respond well to the "this-girl-has-still-got-it" mentality that I started my run with.

All that to say, I was a little anxious about today's run. But with the warm air, sweet Spring breeze, and wiser pacing on my end, it turned out to be perfect. Slow, real slow, but perfect.

I hope I'm able to keep the same mentality with our move to Texas. Just like starting up a run after a few too many months off, this move might be uncomfortable, even painful at times. Sure, it is a wonderful opportunity, but it typically takes yours truly a while to adapt to change. So I hope I'm able to be patient with myself, and at the same time challenge myself daily to be fully present in this special time in our lives.

The sun is shining, I survived my run and we're moving to Texas. Three months ago, those all would have seemed unbelievable. Now they're here, and I'm trying my best to soak it in!

xoxo

I laughed out loud, mainly because I can see that whole trail scene going down in my head. Also...you are a VERY talented writer, my friend :)

I feel like I'm in the same spot. Just getting back into exercise and sunshine. I'm excited for the change.

Good luck with your move to Texas! I think moving, especially to a new place, is the hardest. You'll be fabulous though!

I hear the sunshine is bigger in Texas.
