the weekend.

Clockwise from top left: 1. Our Sunday evening meal; 2. Our rain-drenched sidewalk;
3. Lightning that lit up the sky early Saturday morning; 4. Comparing the waist bands (see below)

Good morning! Can you believe we're halfway through August already? This summer has kind of flown by. But halfway through August means two weeks until my parents visit us here in Abilene! Hooray!

This weekend was highlighted by a lovely little thing I like to call RAIN.

Finally! I hadn't seen rain for over two months, and now I'm starting to believe that acceptable weather conditions actually do exist here. Abilene got 3.29 inches on Friday night alone, and we were woken up by a LOUD thunderstorm on Saturday morning. Oh, and Saturday's high temperature? 89 degrees. WHAT?!?! We went for a run at 9am on Saturday, and there was actually kind of a cool breeze. It rained again on Sunday, and was much cooler this weekend than most.

Okay, enough with the weather report. We also did other thrilling things, like vacuuming, hanging pictures on the wall, meal planning and grocery shopping. Sometimes the least exciting weekends are the best ones.

Oh, and see that photo up there? The one on the bottom left? We compared the waist band of a pair of my running shorts and a pair of Landon's. Just for the record, they're exactly the same size.

That's all.

xoxo.

Let me know when you go outside and get goosebumps when it's 75 degrees...that happened to me when we were living in the South for a couple years. I was shocked! Good luck and let me know if you want me to mail you any fire ant repellent for your lawn. I have some here that we won't use.

I'm enjoying your blog, it's bringing back some memories I had when we left the Northwest. You might miss the crisp fall mornings, but the lovely springtime will make up for it in a couple months.

Enjoy your parents!

YAY for the rain! Glad you were able to go for a run with a breeze :) I can't wait for the fall when I can really enjoy running!

P.S. I'm shocked that you have the same size waist band...
