Friends, are you enjoying this lovely three-day weekend? I technically don't have today off, but I took some vacation time today since my parents are here. We've had a great weekend so far, filled with old family favorites like eggs-in-toast (bottom left) and peach pie (top right). We also walked/drove around Abilene to look at some of the pretty homes and neighborhoods.

Temperatures have really cooled down here. As I write, it's still in the SIXTIES this morning, which is hard to believe. And, the high today is 84, a nice 20-degree break from our 100+ temperatures.
