My prayer this holiday season...

Come Thou long expected Jesus

Born to set Thy people free;

From our fears and sins release us,

Let us find our rest in Thee.

My own version would go something like this...

Jesus, I've longed for you, and I long for you now

Set us free from the things that distract and paralyze us

Push me more into my fears, show me how futile they are

Release me from the sin that I so easily fall into

May we find rest, true rest, in you, and may we be transformed as we do your holy work

Come Thou long expected Jesus
