muhs home

Muhs Home is one of my favorite little browsing spots. Aren't these sets of spreaders, knives, and cocktail forks gorgeous? I love the simplicity and craftsmanship.

Have a pretty Wednesday.

picnic time.

The Boxsal picnic boxes are so fun. I especially like the color-by-number "Today's Date" box.

Which is your favorite?

sunday lovin: links loved.

I've been listening to this, this, this, and this quite a bit lately.
(thanks to Maryn for the bring the last two to my attention!)
Landon and I watched all four parts of The Weight of the Nation this weekend. You should too.
How pretty are these photos? I've only been to Montana once, but I'd love to go back someday.

xoxo.

[photos: some instagram shots from my weekend. i kind of can't believe that i snapped that second photo in the year 2012, and not 1962.]

four things for your friday.

1. How gorgeous are these Japanese Enamel Kettles? I love the colors.
2. I'm pretty sure my family would disown me if I put Snook in this pointed collar, but it sure is tempting. Have you ever seen a more distinguished looking cat? This one is a close second.
3. DIY black-toed pumps? Sign me up! Although I rarely wear heels, I might start if I had a pair I painted myself.
4. I love this white striped wood carrier. I'm really into white with natural wood lately.

Happy weekend!

not that i have the budget, but...

...if I did, I'd shop at LemLem, Emerson Fry and Herriott Grace.

I so appreciate the handcraftedness of these beauties, and I applaud their makers (I love seeing the real faces behind companies like these!).

san francisco in toothpicks

Have you seen this? If you haven't, you must watch the video below...it's amazing! "Rolling Through the Bay" has 100,000 toothpicks and took 34 years and over 3,000 hours to complete. I'm not sure I'd have the patience for a project like that!

sunday lovin: the ripstik.

We got my nephew a ripstik (i.e. waveboard/caster board) for his birthday, and then of course we had to give it a try after he opened it:

i think i could keep myself busy for hours if i had one of these.
needless to say, we'll be like these guys in no time.

what's up wednesday #12.

hooray! links for wednesday!

1. this print by trey speegle. i'm still convincing landon that this would be a very worthwhile purchase for us.
2. a very sweet downloadable desktop calendar for february. it's already on mine!
3. i hear its snowing like crazy back east. this kit would be nice, should any snowball fights take place.
4. my dear friend maryn visited last night. she was pretty convincing in her argument that toms are the most comfortable shoes ever, and being quite fond of comfortable shoes, i investigated. if i decide to get a pair, i think i'd go with these. too masculine? i really like them.
5. i love satsuma press' sweet valentine set.

happy wednesday to all!

it's monday.

well, it sure is monday. my eyes are a little droopy and my alarm was anything but welcomed this morning. you might feel the same, so here's some things that have made my days better and might make your monday a bit more manageable. first up, listen to this cd. it always gets my mornings off to a good start.
next, read this blog. it's written by my dear cousin alyson, and i love reading her posts and checking out her photography. i know you will too.
and finally, check out this book. i read it on my lunch break at work each day, it's beautifully written and just the thing i need right now.

happy monday, if there is such a thing.

what's up wednesday #10.

happy wednesday!

my favorite kind of compass.
someday i'll get around to making this.
i plan to try this mug cake asap.
i needed to read this. you might too.
i could go for a little sledding, myself.
i decided to add a little health reminder to my day.

what's up wednesday #9.

apologies. i know i post pictures of these trees in my parents yard
quite often. but i just think they're great. and unfortunately this
is from 2008, but i wish there was snow again this year!
december 22nd. wow-ee. can you believe it? time flies when you're working full time...that's my new motto. some christmas-y links for the last two hours of your wednesday.
how to wrap a perfect present, for the presentation-minded.
i wish these weren't sold out!
what a great gift idea for friends!
my pups, circa 2008.
xoxo. happy wednesday almost thursday.

a small christmas.

this christmas, i've decided to shop small, as much as possible, for my family and friends. i find they have the prettiest things, and they're much more fun to support than the big ones. so, here's to a small christmas and to hoping they still get that same look on their faces [like the one above. that's my mom opening a gift from my dad last year. you better believe there were some diamonds hiding in that pottery barn box.]
here's a list to my favorite little shops for gifts [and no guessing your present, if you're in the family]:

[sorry, mom. i didn't ask your permission to use this picture.]

it's friday.
xoxo.

ps. if you need a little pick-me-up today, watch these.

bootie stirrup socks. wish i had a pair.
a lovely wreath for the new year.
puppy therapy. believe it. [so proud to call that place my alma mater.]
oh, deer.
boot love.
this makes me...happy.
this too.
what i'm reading.

oh my pillows.

last monday i won tiny bit of sparkle's pillow giveaway [see here].
this monday [today] i won the way we are's pillow giveaway [above].
can't wait to see what next monday brings.
on second thought, i don't think "third time's a charm" applies here.

xoxo.
